The site currently hosts everything you need to know about our sport in the Sunderland area, we currently play hosts to the Sunderland & District Bowling Association and the City of Sunderland Indoor Bowling club. To access each section just click on the SUNDERLAND & DIST tab or the CITY OF SUNDERLAND buttons above.

The site also provides an un-edited version of the Bowls Report that appears in the Sunderland Echo on a Saturday which again can be accessed via the BOWLS REPORT button above.

The site is delighted to welcome Silksworth's England international DAVID BOLT on board in a new feature called BOLTY'S BLOG.

Sunderland & District Bowling Association


The outdoor scene is catered for within the Sunderland & District section, a full list of the Association Officials, League Fixtures, League Results, League Tables and Competition Draws for the season can be found within that section.

For the historians there is also a comprehensive list of League Records and Competition Honours.

A NEW feature is the option to submit league results, it is easy to do and enables the league secretary to provide the site with a more up to-date league table.

There is also the LIVESCORE feature which is worth keeping an eye on during the latter stages of the competiitons


City of Sunderland Indoor Bowling Club


The City of Sunderland IBC section features updates on the clubs Inter County and two Senior's teams fortunes plus a comprehensive records section.

Although currently without a bowls venue the club is still operating at a team level playing out of the Houghton Sports Complex.

There is a comprehensive club Honours at both county, national and internationally, Team news and a funny little farewell to Crowtree.

The Grindon League


After a two year absence the Grindon League make a welcome return to the site.

Clubs can submit League Results and Tommy Thompson Double Fours results.

Saturday 18th February 2017

The latest round of fixtures in the Seniors Inter Club take place this week, Wednesday will be a sad day for the Sunderland Seniors who will bring down the curtain on 27 years of competing in the league. During those years Sunderland use to have two squads A&B and both enjoyed success, the A team won the plays off final on five occasions and finished runners up on two more. The B team never lifted the title but were runners up twice, sadly since the loss of Crowtree a small band of players have kept the club name going for three years but the sands of time have caught up with the squad and it was reluctantly agreed to finish this season, although the club will not be dissolved. The squads final game is at Houghton against Stanley A, after breaking there duck against Ferryhill the Sunderland lads will be looking to end on a high note. .,..........read more
